AUTHOR'S ADVOCATE CRUSADES FOR STRUGGLING WRITERS

Sarasota, FL – March 5, 2008 -- The publishing industry is in chaos and today's writers face insurmountable obstacles in getting their works out to the public. Into this melee comes an industry veteran turned protector of the struggling writer - Patrika Vaughn, the Author's Advocate.

In addition to her 25-year career as a published writer, ghostwriter and editor, Vaughn used to be a literary agent. She quit because, she says, "In today's publishing flux, agents can't deliver what writers need." What they need, she says, is the industry information that lets them make the best writing and publishing choices for success.

"We can't fight today's publishing realities," Vaughn says. "Accountants, not editors, are deciding who the publishing giants take on. Literary agents can do little to get an unknown author in. And while small- to mid-size publishers are accessible without an agent, connecting with the right one depends on an exact knowledge of each publisher's niche."

A writer's other options - electronic and self-publishing - also call for a vast amount of knowledge that few writers possess. Writers need someone on their side . . . someone who's been there and done that . . . someone who knows how to get through the hoops and onto the shelves. Enter: Patrika Vaughn, the World's First Author's Advocate.

From her new base as a book doctor and consultant to both professional and hopeful authors, Vaughn has created an armory of tools for writers. In addition to her book, Everything You Need to Know to Write, Publish and Market Your Book, Vaughn offers online classes and audio books on every aspect of writing, publishing and marketing. She also provides personal consulting to authors at all levels of expertise.

Patrika Vaughn lectures from Florida to Finland in her crusade to help new voices get published. Visit her website at www.acappela.com, where you can listen to her media interviews, or call 941-351-2050
