BODY- BUILD YOUR STORY
Does your story bulge in all the wrong places; lie flaccid when it should exude strength? Build vibrant stories, articles and books by learning the jobs of every beginning, middle and end; which point of view will work best; how to set the scene and create the action and turning points that will keep readers interested.
Week 1:
Point
of view and
Voice. Establishing the tone of your work and the attitude your readers
will adopt about your subject/audience/events.
Week 2:
Establishing the scene.
Write
openings that grab readers' interest by giving them the right information and images.
Week 3:
Action and
Turning Points. Plot stories and articles that keep readers breathless and
believing every word. How to structure the events so that your beginning, middle and
ending are satisfying.
Week 4:
Using
description, narration, scenes & dialogue. Readers have to
experience and understand your characters to identify with them. Give them the
descriptions, scenes and dialogue they'll need to do this.
4-week classes begin the first Friday of each month - or take it as a One-on-One and begin immediately upon registration.
Take as a One-on-One course:

Student Comments:
"I was stuck, not knowing what was wrong. But after reading Lesson One in Body Build, I discovered that I've been trying to tell thestory from the wrong POV. I wanted to let you know and thank you because this course is helping me right from the start. I've been writing a lot this past week." Jay Sridhar
"I never thought about sculpting my fiction the way I work at sculpting my body at
the gym, but it turned out to be a perfect metaphor for shaping the novel that was giving
me fits. I'd never thought about the importance of a story's tone or rhythm, of
giving definition to climactic points by buffing up scenes and dialogue. I learned
so much the first time that I signed up for this course again!"
"I'm using the techniques you provided on plotting in lessons #3 and #4 to plot out
my book. This is taking some time, but it's the first time I've been able to do this
before writing the Ms."
"I found the class useful and informative. Four weeks was however too short. I would have liked more time critiquing style but maybe that's another course. Honestly though I did learn quite a bit so the money was well spent. I will now read your book."
